In February 1999, the decision was taken to divide the partnership of seven doctors into two new partnerships. Ashworth Street Surgery (in the original building) was formed by five of these GPs - Dr Hazel Platts, Dr David Hudson, Dr Stephen Doyle, Dr Lindsay Guest and Dr David Osborne. In August 2001 Dr Lindsay Guest moved back to Hull nearer to her family. To complement the existing partnership and an increasing list size, Dr Jenny Nelson joined the partnership in November 2001 followed by Dr Shalini Gadiyar in February 2002. Four years later in 2006 Dr Nicholas Moore joined the practice as a full-time partner. In September 2011, Dr Moore moved back to Portsmouth where he was brought up. The practice was very fortunate that Dr Mark Mudalige, who was one of our previous registrars has replaced Dr Moore full time. Ashworth Street Surgery is committed to good medical care with continuity of care with a wide range of services a high priority. Our surgery times have been extended in the evening to provide some flexibility for our working patients.

As well as surgery consultations, we provide a large range of health promotion appointments eg Well Man / Woman, HRT/Menopause, Antenatal, Postnatal, Asthma, Hypertension, Coronary Heart Disease, Health Check, Stroke, Child Health, Diabetes, Family Planning and Acupuncture. Dr Doyle and Dr Osborne run weekly Minor Surgery sessions. If any of our patients are unable to attend the clinics during the dedicated sessions, please inform any of our receptionists who will offer you the service in the doctors' consultation surgery.

Branch Surgery Opens in Norden at the Norden Old Library

Two local GP practices, Ashworth Street Surgery and Edenfield Road Surgery, have joined forces in an exciting venture to open a GP practice in Norden Village. We were keen to provide an excellent venue, local based service which patients could easily access by foot, car or public transport.

Reception is open from 8.30am to 6.00pm with no closure at lunchtime. All doctors from both practices will be holding sessions in Norden, so patients will be able to see a doctor of their choice for a pre-booked appointment, and both surgeries have open lists to take on new patients.

If you wish to book an appointment to attend the Branch Surgery you would need to ring the original telephone number for Ashworth Street Surgery which is 01706 346767. Patients requesting repeat prescriptions would still need to phone the Prescription Line which is 01706 346969.

Monday to Friday  8.30am - 6.00pm

Surgery Times:

Monday to Friday  8.30 - 11.35am and 3.30 - 5.30pm

Disabled Access

The medical centre is fully accessible for wheelchairs. There is parking for the disabled by the main doors. Special toilet facilities with wide access doors are available for patients in wheelchairs.
